Roslindale Porch Fest is a free, annual festival where our community connects through the joy of live music. The festival is built on a grassroots, volunteer spirit, but we understand that performing can still have real costs.

To ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate, we are pleased to continue the Roslindale Porch Fest Performer Support Program for 2025.

This dedicated fund provides direct financial assistance to performers facing financial hurdles. Eligible artists can apply for a grant of up to $175 to help cover essential costs like transportation, equipment rental, or childcare.

This program is not intended as a "payment-for-play"—which would go against the community-driven spirit of the event—but rather as targeted support for those who genuinely need it to be able to share their talents.

Please note that the total funds available for this program are dependent on our annual fundraising efforts. If you need assistance to make your performance possible, we warmly encourage you to apply.

    • To be eligible, you must be a registered performer for the 2025 Roslindale Porch Fest scheduled for Saturday, Sept 13. Registration will close this year on August 15 (register here).

    • Performers of all genres and styles of music are welcome to apply.

    • Both solo performers and bands are eligible to apply. For bands, please submit one application per group; the grant (up to $175) covers the entire ensemble, not individual members.

    • This fund is intended for performers who face financial barriers that would otherwise prevent them from participating. Assistance must be used for expenses directly related to your performance, such as equipment rental, transportation, or childcare.

    • Transportation costs (e.g., gas, public transit, ride-shares)

    • Equipment rental (e.g., instruments, amplifiers, microphones)

    • Other necessary expenses that would otherwise prevent participation

    1. Register to Perform: You must first be a registered performer for the 2025 Roslindale Porch Fest (register here).

    2. Complete the Application: Fill out the Performer Support Program Application Form.

    3. Explain Your Need: In the form, you will be asked to state the amount you need (up to $175) and briefly explain how these funds will make your participation possible.

    1. Review & Selection Process: The Porch Fest Planning Committee reviews applications on a rolling basis as they are received. Our selection process is guided by the following principles:

      • Primary Goal: Priority will be given to performers with the greatest need and to those who can clearly demonstrate how this support will make their participation possible.

      • Local Priority: Depending on the volume of applications, we may prioritize assistance for performers who are Roslindale residents. However, we warmly encourage performers from all locations to apply.

    2. Notification & Payment: We will notify you of the committee’s decision via email as soon as possible after your application is reviewed.

    3. Funds will be distributed electronically on the day of Porch Fest, after your scheduled performance has been completed.

    4. Cancellation Policy: This financial support is conditional upon your performance at the festival. If you must cancel your appearance for any reason, please notify us immediately at hello@roslindaleporchfest.org.

    5. Because payment is disbursed after the event, performers who cancel will not receive funds. This ensures our limited resources are used as intended to support the artists who perform at the festival.
