Roslindale Porch Fest is seeking a Social Media Manager! 

The Social Media Manager will write captions and create/schedule posts and stories on the Porch Fest Instagram and Facebook accounts. They will collaborate with our all-volunteer planning committee to reach and expand our community of hosts, performers, attendees, and donors.

Anticipated time commitment 40-50 TOTAL hours over 12 weeks, July 1 to September 23, 2023. Commitment to include about 2 hours a week online from July through mid-August; about 4 hours a week online from mid-August until September 23; weekly check-ins with a committee point person; and, preferably, attendance at our meetings in Roslindale Square (at least monthly; days and times vary). Hours are flexible, but the Social Media Manager must be available to attend Porch Fest on September 23 (and available for rain date of September 24).

Anticipated social media activity:

  • 2-3 posts/stories a week until mid-August

  • 3-5 posts/stories a week mid-August to mid-September

  • Daily posts mid-September to day of Porch Fest

  • A couple of posts immediately after Porch Fest (thank-yous, etc.)

Your qualifications/skills:

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, especially Instagram and Facebook, including scheduling tools

  • Experience with content creation (text, image, video, audio)

  • Eye for detail and ability to edit your own work

  • Interest in Porch Fest and commitment to contribute to our efforts through September

  • Familiarity with the Roslindale community

  • Knowledge of multiple languages a plus

Compensation will be $25/hour.
