ROSLINDALE PORCH FEST
Volunteer with Us!
Roslindale Porch Fest is a completely grassroots, all-volunteer effort dedicated to celebrating our neighborhood through community, fellowship, and live music. We rely entirely on neighbors like you to bring these events to life. From helping coordinate logistics behind the scenes to keeping things running smoothly on festival days, our volunteers are the backbone that keeps everything free, accessible, and vibrant for everyone. We are always looking for fresh energy and additional hands—whether you want to pitch in around our big events (like (Un) Porch Fest and Porch Fest) or dive deeper into year-round planning, there is a place for you on the team.
To give you an idea of where you might fit best, we’ve broken down our current needs into a few key areas. Whether you want to join a year-round planning committee or just pitch in during the weeks leading up to the big event, there is a place for you.
AREAS WE NEED HELP
Community & Participant Support
-
Serve as the dedicated point of contact for our neighborhood porch hosts. This customer-support style role focuses on managing outreach, answering logistical questions, and making sure our hosts feel supported and informed from sign-up to festival day.
-
Act as the primary link between the committee and our musicians. You will manage communications with artists, guide them through onboarding, and handle questions regarding their sets and technical needs.
Civic & Operations
-
Perfect for folks who want to dive in right around game time. The Street Team puts in the majority of their hours in the 7–14 days leading up to the main event. Responsibilities include yard sign distribution and collection, street advertising, neighborhood flyering, and critical day-of festival support.
-
Help us work hand-in-hand with the City of Boston to keep our events safe, accessible, and integrated with the neighborhood. This role involves exploring and securing additional municipal funding sources, developing accessibility initiatives, and coordinating necessary street closures to support local block parties.
Communications, Outreach & Creative
-
Help maintain our online presence and keep our community newsletter running. We use Squarespace for our website and email communications, so you don't need to be a tech wizard to help out.
-
Use your creative eye to help us craft layouts and visuals for our printed neighborhood materials, maps, and signage.
-
Help us keep the neighborhood informed and excited. This role focuses on promoting the event, coordinating with local media, and getting the word out across the community.

About the Committee
Who puts this all together? We’re just a group of local folks from all different backgrounds who happen to love live music and bringing the neighborhood together.
We work year-round to keep this festival running, and we keep things collaborative, casual, and fun. We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we’re incredibly proud of what this festival does for our community
If you want to pitch in, we’d love for you to join us.
