Roslindale Porch Fest
WEATHER PLAN
Roslindale Porch Fest is an outdoor event, and weather conditions can sometimes require changes to the performance schedule. To reduce uncertainty and last-minute confusion, we have established the following weather policy for hosts, performers, and attendees.
Porch Fest will proceed as scheduled unless the Rain Plan is activated or the event is canceled due to weather.
During registration, hosts and performers provided information about their ability to participate during rain. Based on those responses, each host location and performer has been classified as either Rain Ready or No Go in the Rain. These classifications are used to determine which performances can continue if the Rain Plan is activated.
-
If rain is expected to significantly affect some host locations or performers, but conditions remain suitable for Porch Fest to continue, Roslindale Porch Fest may activate a modified Rain Plan.
In deciding whether to activate the Rain Plan, the Porch Fest Committee will consider the timing, duration and expected intensity of the rain, as well as the overall forecast and anticipated event conditions.
Under the Rain Plan, a performance will proceed only if both the host location and the performer are Rain Ready. All other performances will be canceled.
This means some host locations may have only part of their original schedule — or no performances at all — under the Rain Plan.
The Rain Plan is intended to allow as much of Porch Fest as reasonably possible to continue despite rain. It does not mean that hosts or performers are expected to continue during hazardous weather.

Description text goes hereThunderstorms, lightning, strong winds, heavy rain, flooding, or other hazardous conditions may require Roslindale Porch Fest to cancel the entire event, regardless of a host or performer's rain classification.
The Roslindale Porch Fest Committee will make weather-related decisions based on the forecast, expected conditions, and the safety and feasibility of holding the event.
-
If weather is expected to affect the event, Roslindale Porch Fest will announce whether the Rain Plan has been activated or the event has been canceled by 6:00 PM on Friday, September 18.
If the Rain Plan is activated, the resulting modified schedule will be considered final. Performances canceled under the Rain Plan will not be reinstated if the forecast subsequently improves.
If conditions deteriorate after the Rain Plan is announced, including overnight or on Saturday morning, Roslindale Porch Fest may still cancel the entire event.
-
If the Rain Plan is activated or the event is canceled, hosts and performers will be notified directly by email. Those communications will include the event status and any changes affecting their scheduled performances.
The Roslindale Porch Fest website will serve as the official source for the current event status and public performance schedule. Any weather-related cancellations or schedule changes will be clearly identified there.
Weather updates may also be shared through Roslindale Porch Fest social media channels, but attendees should refer to the website for the most current information.
If no weather-related announcement is issued, Porch Fest will proceed as scheduled.
