Porch Fest is on!

The weather is definitely not what any of us hoped for. But as next week’s rain date also has rain forecast, and this afternoon’s forecast suggests the rain will lighten up and there will be little accumulation…Porch Fest is on today!

We know with some Rozzie spirit we can still make today a great day for the Roslindale community.

We will be keeping the Porch Fest app and the website updated with the current version of the schedule, so please check for any changes to help you plan your day.

This evening’s after parties are still happening, we hope to see many of you there.

As you can imagine, this is such a tough call for the Porch Fest Committee to make, and we realize some folks won’t agree with our decision to go ahead with the event today. Similarly, we have heard from people urging us to go ahead with the event today in spite of the weather. Please know that we have not come to this decision lightly, and are trying to make the best of the hand that the weather gods have dealt us!

We have had a few folks suggesting we postpone to tomorrow. Unfortunately given the size of the event, and the work that goes into postponing (as we know from last year’s experience!) reconfirming all hosts and performers and communicating a new schedule to everyone just isn’t possible to do in 24 hours.

We also know from experience that rescheduling will cause many performers and hosts to drop out. Whether we keep it today or move it, we suspect participation will drop. The choice is between two less than ideal outcomes.
